DYNAMIC SYSTEM CONTROL DISPATCH: A GLOBAL OPTIMIZATION APPROACH

Abstract: This study, taking its inspiration from the space engineering framework, investigates the overall issue of dispatching the control of a dynamic system, through a number of actuators. An appropriate control law, expressed in terms of total force and torque demand, represents the operational scenario. This gives rise to a very challenging assignment, concerning the actuator accommodation and utilization. A circumscribed formulation of the problem is stated and a dedicated heuristic, based on a global optimization approach, discussed. Possible extensions and applications in a real-world context are considered.
